ABOUT ME
- Administrative law and professional regulation practice focuses on providing advice and advocacy to self-governing professional regulators in a number of areas including investigation of complaints, discipline proceedings, appeals, registration issues as well as policy development and implementation. Experience in this area also includes representing member’s interests before a number of professional regulators and acting as a member of discipline panels. In addition to his advocacy role, Bill has served for many years as a member of the Law Society’s Discipline Committee sitting as an adjudicator for discipline proceedings.
- Comprehensive trial, appellant and administrative tribunal experience.
- Life Bencher of the Law Society of Manitoba. Served as Bencher from 1996-2004. Served as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the Complaints Investigation Committee, Chairperson of the Discipline Committee, Chairperson of the Reimbursement Claims Fund, Chairperson of the Admissions and Education Committee, member of the Professional Liabilities Claim Fund Committee and member of the CEO Selection Committee.
- Current member of the Discipline Committee of the Law Society of Manitoba.
- Guest lecturer at Faculty of Law, University of Manitoba in Remedies and group instructor for Oral Advocacy.
- Active member of the Civil Litigation Subsection of the Manitoba Bar Association.
- Formerly a member of the Board of Directors and Chairperson of Ten Ten Sinclair Inc., a non-profit corporation dedicated to independent living.
